H. Dan Hill

Biography

A career aviator with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, H. Dan Hill founded Mach One Air Charters Inc. in 2006. Serving as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director of Flight Operations, Mr. Hill successfully expanded his business from one employee and plane upon its founding to its current total of five planes and 22 employees. Prior to starting his business, which now takes in more than $5 million a year in revenue, H. Dan Hill spent 28 years working as a Captain with Delta Airlines. After leaving Delta in 2004, Mr. Hill moved to the role of Director of Flight Operations for North American Jet Charter. In this capacity, he also acted as the Federal Aviation Administration Instrument Check Pilot for the company’s Lear 60 and Citation 550 jets.

H. Danny Hill has earned his captain rating to fly a variety of aircraft, including the DC-9, MD-11, B-727, Citation 560-XL, and B-757. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hill has logged roughly 25,000 hours of flight time, with over 500 hours in the cockpit of such aircraft as the Lear 60, B-767, CE-500, and L-1011. He has additionally served as a flight instructor for the CE500/501/550 aircraft.

In addition to Mach One Air, H. Danny Hill has engaged in a variety of successful business ventures. While a pilot with Delta, he founded Westside Aviation Inc., a company that bought and sold small jets and prop planes. In 1974, Mr. Hill founded National Jet Industries Inc. and operated in a variety of roles for the company, including Chief Executive Officer, Director of Flight Operations, pilot, and instructor. Mr. Hill also chartered flights, contracted freight service, and wrote all flight manuals for National Jet. After four years of business, H. Danny Hill was able to expand the company to include charter service operations in Hawaii, and eventually built a fleet that included 12 jets and 13 light twin aircraft.
